Tutoring Options

You are here

There are a number of avenues through which CBE students can pursue tutoring, and the CBE Undergraduate Programs Office is here to coordinate tutoring options for our students. We encourage students to seek out tutoring early in the semester and to continue to use it regularly for best results. No matter the GPA, tutoring is a way for students to take proactive action to ensure their success.

The Center for Academic Success

The Center for Academic Success offers tutoring in most CBE first-year and sophomore-level core courses free of charge to students. Tutoring begins the third week of classes and continues through the last week of classes every semester. Students have the option of participating in walk-in tutoring at the Center for Academic Success, located in 441 Williams Hall, where upperclass undergraduate students are available on a walk-in basis for specific courses. Walk-in tutoring is usually offered Monday-Thursday in the afternoon through the evening. Weekly group tutoring is another option in which students sign up for a weekly tutoring session (usually no more than six students in a group) with an upperclass undergraduate student. The weekly group tutoring is also course-specific, and students may sign up for tutoring in more than one course. Finally, the Center for Academic Success offers residential tutoring, where upperclass undergraduate students are available on a walk-in basis in various residence halls for specific courses. Residential tutoring is generally offered Sunday-Wednesday in the evening.
